His Name

His Name

His Name

Lord, why is your name so offensive to some?
Why are your laws hard to swallow?
Since ancient times they've been passed down
Yet man finds it so difficult to follow.
Those who love you try hard to conform;
Lives dedicated to obey.
And though we aren't perfect and fall sometimes
We try hard to do what you say.
Then there are those who say You aren't real
and Your Word is outdated and wrong.
They think right and wrong is subjective, You see;
God's Law just doesn't belong.
But I think the truth about them is
that they really enjoy their sin;
It's easier for them to deny You Lord
than to repent and be forgiven.
But I'm scared Dear Lord and I'll tell You why:
I don't want to live in a world
where Your Name and existence is never mentioned,
where man-made laws are unfurled.
Because I know the first law passed will go something like this:
"Let no man, woman or child proclaim a God who doesn't exist"
