Letting Go

It’s always hard to see the one you love happy with another
But what are you to do
When all you want is for them to be happy
Missing their smile, their hug and
How the way they look at you makes you feel above the world
It all makes it that much harder to let go
Something you never thought you’d have to do
But sometimes the things that you never want to do must be done
Whether with a smile, although fake
Or even with tears on your cheeks
And pain in your eyes
It must be done
Never knowing whether it’s going to be forever
Or if you’ll find someone that makes you at least just as happy
Almost forgot what lonely was
But as long as you are happy
Soon I will be too
So I guess this is what love is like
