The Boardwalk

The Boardwalk

A Poem by GoldenOne

The moon rises
like a glowing anesthetic
over the glassy water.
The ferry lights are laughing,
twinkling smartly at her tall frame
which stands unmoving on the boardwalk.
Cool wind tangles and twists her hair,
but cannot break her trance.
The artificial stars and navy blue ripples
have left her
infinitesimally numb.
