Things Hold Together

Things Hold Together

A Poem by GoldenOne
"

Poem written about a rainy day, and the mood that comes with. Religious; hopeful ending.

"
Things hold together. Or didn't they tell you?
Sometimes the muggy tides of life engulf you
and drown the words of hope you thought you heard
and drown you in painful puddles of the same
and drown out your desire to be saved.
Defeat does not announce himself with thunder.
No, he sidles in with the afternoon showers,
in the tired moments you spend sighing;
Thinking, "It's merely this and nothing more.
Just rain and wind and nothing more."
But things hold together--
I have staked my little life on it.
Even in the soggy season, yes even in the gale,
the center holds.
And he will wash away your tear drops with the rain.
