Fallen angel

When I spotted her, everything & everyone around faded into the background almost instantly..

Her precense did something to me..

We talked & hung out..

She told me a little bit about herself..

She needed help yet she wouldnt accept it..

She told me her story & I couldn't believe it..

She had fallen from above..

In hopes to find real love..

But in her search, she had to learn the hard way that hearing the word love isn't enough..

She had to deal with heartbreaks & let downs..

But she wouldn't dare let that make her frown..

Even tho deep down she was hurt at the fact that love was much rarer & more hurtful than it appeared to be..

So she wanted to return home..

She didn't care if it was alone..

Because it got to a point where she felt a man couldn't do for her what she couldn't already do for herself..

That was until I had came along & sensed that she needed help; behind the words she spoke..

Since then I had took an oath..

To help her on her way by mending her broken wings..

And teaching her the ways of love & how it goes..

I showed her the kind of man she desevered..

And during that beautiful moment, I looked up & seen a smile that lit up my world..

I heard a laughter that brought joy to my heart & the stare in her eyes as she looked into mine, had brought life to my soul..

As it got closer to that time..

For her goodbye..

I found myself questioning what I thought I knew about love..

Because for a long second, I found myself being selfish..

I wanted her to be with me..

I wanted her to stay & never leave..

They say the flower that blooms in adersity is the most rare & beautiful of all..

That's why in that moment, it didn't take long for me to fall..

But I remembered that love was never selfish..

If it's real then it's forever selfless..

I understood that we had our moment & it was perfect..

But it became that time, to say my goodbye..

To my fallen angel as she began to rise, on home..

Now I hope..

That when my time comes, she'll be standing there to greet me at heavens gates..

With her arms open wide to let me in..

So that we can exceed forever, together, by flying in a place that will give us eternity..

Nothing will ever come between her & me..

But til then, I wait..

To see her again..

My angel, from up above...
