Peaceful

Peaceful

A Story by klaus

He felt different, lighter, and no longer numb.

The air he breathed was rich and pure, unlike that he'd been letting fill his lungs for the majority of his life. But strangest of all was what he heard, for he could hear naught.

Not even a distant white noise managed to trouble his ears.

He felt weightless, as though his feet were applying no pressure to the ground. It was as though the Earth had gone to sleep and in the process had turned off all its senses, but he himself had only just awoken from a timely slumber.

As he marveled at these sensations so knew to him he reflected on the multitudinous amount of time he had spent in a less peaceful state of being.

He now felt more alive than ever,

but he failed to even realize that he was in fact dead.

the after-life, is there more to it than that?
well done and well delivered punchline just at the right place.
Reminds me of experiences i've been through.

Really good! ''....that he was in fact dead.'' Didn't expected that one. Keep it up!
