We're getting closer and older
Later than most
Finally shinning together

How it should be
How it should have been

Now older, you can see me
I understand the man you were

I am everything you are,
everything you have been,
and everything you will be

Where was I when you weren't here?
I was a child,
Memories and stories cloud my past

Today, I'm aware
We connect

Closer and older
Closer to us
We've always been there

We do become older and closer. My kids have learn. Life can be hard and you need family near and some help. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
