Closing the Casket

Closing the Casket

A Poem by kkv123

It over, it’s done, the curtains’ closed.

I gently lay down this delicate rose.

The door is shut, your life has gone.

I guess it’s time to move on.

If only you had gotten better…

Goodbye, my dear, I’ll love you forever.

Wow, there are some great metaphors in there. Really deep, too. The only thing I suggest is on the fourth line add another syllable to make it flow better. Its great how much meaning you can fit into a short poem. Just play with the language. Find what fits and whats sounds good to the ear. Great poem.
