Deja Vu

Deja Vu

A Poem by Electric Green Earth Child

I know where you are.
Waiting
Irreverent
Your wondering what to expect from me.
But tonight
I feel not the pressures
Of your expectations.
Only a sweet calm
Serenity
I open the heavy oakdoor
Like I have so many times before
When I was
Angry
Sad
Drunk
Ecstatic to see you.
Turning the brass handle
I step into your safebox
I’m transported into your thoughtdreams
Which I know keep you awake at night
I feel your mind which weighs heavily
In the air
The air, of which that sweet aroma
Of smoldering incense roams
Both of us are wrapped in our own vanity
I’m shielded by a sort of insanity
Which I know is the namesake you keep for me.
I take a seat on the hard floor
With a Becks held by delicate hands.
I ask you, how are you doing.
When really, I’m thinking.
God, I miss you.

i appreciate your insight, dahling!...this and Untitled are the two most recent poems i've written, and you can see that i'm starting to develop a voice a little bit...instead of just writing all over the place and playing with different styles.

Flows very well, not over written, very good. You can write, don't ever doubt that. Good imagery and descriptive words like brass handle, oakdoor, smoldering incense and Becks paint a good picture.
