To Blame for the Snake

To Blame for the Snake

A Poem by KJVollaro
"

a poem exploring feelings of guilt about walking away from someone

"

Your eyes are mournful

Your eyes are mournful

Your eyes are mist-full

Your eyes are mine, still

All chills, all chills

This snake of a man beside you

All spills, all spills

Your eyes are mist-full

Your eyes are mist-full

Your eyes are wistful

Your eyes are mine, still

All spills, all spills

This snake of a man bestride you

All builds, all builds

Your eyes are wistful

Your eyes are wistful

Your eyes are mindful

Your eyes are mine, still

All builds, all builds

This snake of a man inside you

All fills, all fills

Wow, you definitely understand the power of repetition. The hindsight remorse is evident. I can picture a (ragged) man repeating this into a half empty glass of inexpensive scotch, almost hypnotic. "Your eyes are mine. still" is an eerie yet powerful line. Given a different tone in the poem, this could be what every lover wants to hear. In this context, it's just disarming. I'm consistently amazed by the power of your work.

Nope, sorry, never heard of the song...

Other than that, it was pretty unusual how you repeated some few lines, it's like hearing those words becoming louder each time I read the same lines over. It's all good here...

Never heard of the song, but I like the poem! When I read it, my mind got pulled into it like listening to a witches spell...think "double double toil and trouble", but way cooler obviously.
