January 13th, 2008A Story by kjstevensblog entry - a bit of inspiration
January 13th, 2008 9:01 A.M. Wrote in nonfiction book. Worked a little on sequel to Pilgrim’s Bay. Plugging away at new work even though other things feel unfinished. Because that’s what needs to be done. Life does not wait. Make the best decisions possible based on the information at hand. Create and continue. It is Sunday. My favorite day. Not the end. Not the beginning. But a day that begs us only to BE. To exist. Enjoy and appreciate what we have. Food to eat. Water to drink. Air to breathe. Getting revved up. Feeling it rise. Always, wanting more. Not for me. But for all of us. More reach. More readers. More clicks, comments, rejections. Because all of it brings us closer to feeling at ease. So we won’t have to worry about the things we did not ask for. We did not create. We do not believe. Bills paid. Deadlines met. Accounts built up. The f*****g game. Played over and over again. So that the end leaves a little something for everyone. And we wonder if we’ve had more in common with family and friends or people we’ve never met. Like Getrude Stein, Amanda Davis, Sylvia Plath. Raymond Carver, Dave Shaw, and Thomas Mann. But let’s not get discouraged. The day’s just started. Plenty of ticks left to get things straight. Right ourselves. And fly into the day. ~ K.J. © 2008 kjstevensReviews
