Inspiration

Inspiration

A Poem by Jason Seamans
"

This is something I came up with hoping it would help others who have found themselves in hard times

"
It has been said many times that a simple smile can shine through our darkest of times. But what happens when nothing you do seems to make you want to smile? Is this where inspiration comes from? What is inspiration? How do we find it? There are so many questions that come to mind when the first two questions are asked. Is there a simple answer? Yes and no on the same token. Regardless of religion, everyone finds inspiration in their own way. It comes in so many forms and things we do. Finding inspiration in what seems like a hopeless situation can seem to be the hardest thing we can do. Not unlike hope, inspiration to push through and carry on in any situation is sometimes the hardest things we can do. Is it impossible? Never, if you are willing to look with an open heart and let yourself become inspired. Sounds simple right? Well, in times where things seem hopeless and all inspiration is lost, that is where you have to dig deep within yourself and take a breath, relax and let things just come to you.

A phrase comes to mind when I think of my last paragraph. “Nothing in life worth doing is ever easy.” And so many times, I have found that to be so true. The things life throws at us make each and every day seem like a challenge. From what I have learned, it is the things that challenge us the most that bring inspiration and hope back to us. It is so easy these days to follow the flow and forget who you are and what you have become. For most, following the flow and blending in is what makes things in this life become harder and harder to get out of. It takes a degree of strength to come out of the darkness and follow just what your heart is telling you that it truly wants for you and how to better your life. To become inspired in times of complete and total darkness, is possible if you allow yourself to step back and reassess the situation you are facing. Not all of the time you able to step back and just listen. So what do you do in those times when you can’t take that step back and just listen? That is a question everyone struggles with and quite often can’t ever find the answer too. Does that mean it is impossible? Nothing is impossible if you still have a dream in your heart to hold on to, something to make the situation you have found yourself in worth fighting for.

Being able to have a dream is where our hopes and inspiration can come from if you are willing to listen to just what those dreams are telling you. Do we always dream? I am inclined to say yes, weather or not we seem to remember those dreams all of the time or not is hard to say. The reason I say that is because it is so easy to just conform and give up on those dreams. That is where life will knock you down and keep you down as long as you are willing to conform those demands of what is considered “normal” society. Inspiration is having hope that no matter what you are going through the dreams in your heart keep you going. Is that easy? Never. I say that because if it was easy to do, everyone on the planet would be doing to and there would be no need for what is considered “normal.” All I am saying is this. Never be afraid to dream and to let those dreams take hold of you and guide you through your situations that life brings at you. It is then that you find your true inspiration that drives you through the darkest of times.
