Thunderstorm

Thunderstorm

A Poem by ~As.I.Am~
"

Just a small assignment from my 8th grade language arts class...

"

As I look up I see

The sky opening over me

Our God above looks down in shame

Releasing all the hurt and pain

His tears come down upon my head

And he lashes out with anger red

His shouts streak across the sky

Even God sometimes needs to cry

He looks down on us

What have we done

With this earth? We have only one

We have dissappointed

But he will forgive

We are sons and daughters of his

The sky becomes a blanket of night

Animals gather together in fright

God moans and weeps and shakes his head

His screams fill my heart with dread

The air around grows damp and cold

I see a flash, quick and gold

But behold, the sky becomes light blue

The trees grow calm and stand upright

His promise appears above us all

God nods his head, everything will be alright
