"Don't Leave A Message On This Phone"A Poem by Everything Happens For A ReasonI'm not even gonna bother,
Ring Ring, Ring Ring
"Do not leave a message on this phone" Makes me want to leave a message on your doorstep Not the conventional kind, of course A common dull brown, boring box Full of every single one of our colourful memories Every present, gift, letter, card Every text, every plan - our future I will discard Tied up with a bow A note tacked to the side Saying "Now I'm leaving you behind"
Is it just the anger? Is it just the heat in this house With the personalities rubbing so hard Peacefulness wears thin? I get so mad, I get so sad I constantly yearn for what I know I already have;
Break me down, Find out whats wrong, Take me apart, Drawer by drawer.
"You've reached Stephen Berry -" don't worry I won't leave a message on your stupid phone.
I won't bother you anymore I need noone, don't you see? You were never there, I wanted you but you never need me So I'll throw my pathetic excuses away But be sure I'd rather Shed my skin and poke my eyes out before you hear me say "I need you" Again.
Never again, my Friend.
