"Don't Leave A Message On This Phone"

"Don't Leave A Message On This Phone"

A Poem by Everything Happens For A Reason

I'm not even gonna bother,
Calling Again.

Ring Ring, Ring Ring
Till I'm About To Give Up
And Then Your Voicemail Kicks In

"Do not leave a message on this phone"

Makes me want to leave a message on your doorstep

Not the conventional kind, of course

A  common dull brown, boring box

Full of every single one of our colourful memories

Every present, gift, letter, card

Every text, every plan - our future I will discard

Tied up with a bow

A note tacked to the side

Saying "Now I'm leaving you behind"

Is it just the anger?

Is it just the heat in this house

With the personalities rubbing so hard

Peacefulness wears thin?

I get so mad, I get so sad

I constantly yearn for what I know I already have;

Break me down,

Find out whats wrong,

Take me apart,

Drawer by drawer.

"You've reached Stephen Berry -" don't worrywon't leave a message on your stupid phone.

I won't bother you anymore

I need noone, don't you see?

You were never there, I wanted you but you never need me

So I'll throw my pathetic excuses away

But be sure I'd rather

Shed my skin and poke my eyes out before you hear me say

"I need you"

Again.

Never again, my Friend.

it's like a reopened cut or a tear somewhere deep in your heart. I feel this like a memory i sometimes wish I could forget. It stings but its beautiful and full of that wonderful anger that shows you had something to get off your chest so you cut it out and poured it all over the page. Love it.

Really like this, the little bits of dirty pretty here and there work nicely, I think that's what really makes the piece something special, it makes certain parts more poignant than others :]

And I do genuinely like every piece I tell you I like :P xD
