The Lesson

A Poem by Bellarina
"

Thankful that my muse has returned. This one is one of many that will be posted later on. [12:22pm - Sunday, March 20, 2011]

"
My eyes are open but I still can't see.
I try to scream but something consumes me.
Where do I go from here?
Where do I run?

Fell upon the earth, I woke up in a daze.
I tried to search for you so I turned another page.
Couldn't see the light of day.
Now I'm left in dismay.

Where did you go?
Why are you even running away?
I've GOT to know.
Can't let you slip away, no.
I tried so hard.
Left all these scars.
Now I'm stuck in overdrive.
Stuck inside your mind.

Trying to simmer through the haze.
Beginning to wonder if I should've stayed.
So far away from you.
These eyes are finally open.
Now I'm starting to see.
Maybe you're not the one for me.

Shaking hands guide me now.
Not sure of anything anyhow.
Then you appear.
To me, it's clear.
I sacrificed it all to be with you.
Gave up my whole existence.

Turning away from the sorrow.
Trying to flee the madness.
Your genocide has brought me here.
Past the point of no return.

Maybe next time, I'll learn...
