Redeem Me

Redeem Me

A Poem by Bellarina

Rescue my heart.

Bring joy to my soul.

If you love me, TELL ME!

Don't let me be the last to know!

REDEEM ME!

SAVE ME, HELP ME BREAK FREE!

Rid me of this agony!

OPEN YOUR EYES.

Remember who made the sacrifice.

Tear away the chains that bind me.

Don't hide from your true being.

Is it I that deserves to be forsaken?

You helped me to get this way.

Can I at least get my heart to quit breaking?

My love, it is time.

Please say yes!

Please be mine!

REDEEM ME!

SAVE ME, HELP ME BREAK FREE!

PLEASE RID ME OF THIS AGONY!!!

Featured Review

Good emotional piece, though a tad cliched in some areas.
"Tear away the chains that bind me"
I've read (and used) that line several times

Love the line "You helped me to get this way.
Can I at least get my heart to quit breaking?""

Rewrite the cliched parts and you'd have a wonderful piece here.

I can just feel the narrator of this piece beating her head against the wall, wanting to like break free of whatever's got her in deep bondage. The feel and clamourign pain of the poem is evident ... and too good to be true.
