The world's dispair

The world's dispair

A Poem by Bellarina
"

For Papaw : RIP James Hoover Garner

"

You claim to be superior

You claim to be the best

Your views are clear

Your sight is blurred

Yet you continue to inspire me

With every word

You fell behind long ago

You began to be like the rest

Best you claim

Better than the rest

You laugh in the face of danger

Take it on at full arrest

Wondering if you'll make it

Thinking you'll fall

But you still get up

Brush off the dust

Continue on to the next challenge

You wish to be respected

You dare to be different

You wish to be seen

Just want to be heard

Sick of being so far away

So very far from home

Imagining how much better

Life could be

I know you're tired of it all

You want to give up

Fade away into a world

Of emptiness and sorrow

Yet you continue on

Fearless and without a care

Your dreams are like mine

Similar at times

World peace will never happen though

Neither will the love of a neighbor

But we still hope

And pray for them all

Our beliefs looked down upon

Our hopes shattered

Stomped upon

One thing remains the same

No matter how hard we try

Beg, Plead, Ask or Fight

Nothing will change

Nobody will ever see the light

No one will listen

Only ignore every word

Worried about their own dismay

Not imagining life in a different way

They'll fade away

Not noticing a thing

But while on a bended knee

Can actually ask a woman

To be his honey bee?

If we can't love ourselves

Loving another is a harder task

For we have to fight

To discover our talents

Our enjoyable times

But the world will have to listen

Hear theirselves be ridiculed first

When the power of love

Overcomes the love of power

THEN

THEN the world will know true peace

This a deeply meaningful poem. I think you're starting to discover that writing isn't just about self expression, it's about taking the time to view the world through other peoples eyes, and then relaying what you see in terms of your own views, (and hopefully with an artistic flair for words). Writing is about observation, and imitation of life. Watch what's around you, turn it into words, and then breath life into it. You're doing great Kitty.
