Chapter Two : Fate Steps In

Chapter Two : Fate Steps In

A Chapter by Bellarina
"

Their first meeting.

"

After she had completed the installation of her new voice program, she grabbed her microphone to try it out. It was the gamers server that her friend had suggested for her to try out. She wasn't a major gamer, but only wished to meet new people. She followed the instructions that he gave her until they were at the same spot on the server. She then read the names : Mizari, her friend...Srau, herself...and Adrago. They began talking as she listened attentively. Her friend began the embarassment right away. Her face grew red, her skin like fire, her eyes similar to hard stones. She felt her rage try to take over as they both began to taunt her.

It felt exactly like her past school years. Their words kept flowing continuously as she threatened to leave. They continued to joke about her as if she had not spoken a single word. She clicked the disconnect button and allowed herself to exit the server. She felt as if they enjoyed ridiculing her. A message appeared on her screen. It was her friend asking why she had left the server. She replied back by saying that she would return only if the jokes ceased. He agreed and she logged onto the server once more. She searched for their names and joined them, not saying a word, remaining silent. She listened to them and began to speak again. After she had ended her words, the laughing began once more.

She could no longer control her words. She told them both that she was going to enter her own room on the server and that when they felt like doing something other than ridiculing her, she would be waiting. They were both silent as she exited the room. She wondered why words got her so upset all of the time. They were only words. Her eyes swelled with tears as she remembered what they had said. She felt alone, as if she was a beaten child. The anguish from every harsh word made her tears stream down her face like a rushing waterfall. She hadn't noticed anyone or anything, but a gentle "hello" startled her. "Hello?" She read her screen...Adrago. She tried to act tough towards him, though she knew he would see right past it. They began to talk to pass the time. They later exchanged screen names for a popular instant messenger service that both had been using. After logging in, they began talking to one another once more. He apologized for laughing and teasing her, and not many people before him had had the decency to apologize for their words or their actions.

His voice was kind and his words were VERY proper. She had not yet met a man with such kindess and politeness until now. He was from a far away land and there was a time difference of six hours between the two of them. He was only a few years older than she, but he acted so much like her in so many different ways. They were both in relationships, but were both going to end them soon due to a lack of affection that both felt was required to have a normal, healthy relationship. He was very mysterious to her, and he thought that she was crazy, but in a good way. They had agreed to remain friends unless the option to date became available later on down the road. Had fate subconciously stepped in and joined these two hearts, or would it just be a matter of time before things between them began to change?
