Memories Of You

Memories Of You

A Poem by Bellarina

Not a day goes by without thinking of you.
The days have grown gloomy; the sky isn't blue.
I fight my inner demons every day.
Have to find out how to stop living this way.
Why did I let it get this bad?
Trying to forget everything we had.
You tore me apart in more ways than one.
Caused me to break down and come undone.
Close my eyes and begin to pray.
Thank my God and prepare for the day.
I lace up my boots and pull back my hair.
I hold back the tears but I know that they're there.
Your picture still hung in the hall to see.
Still, it doesn't dismiss the memories.
The thought of you tears me apart.
Even though distanced...you're still in my heart.
