He's Worth the Wait

He's Worth the Wait

A Poem by The Devil's Own B***h

I know it’s not your fault
That he finds you near perfect –
You have a gorgeous body,
A stunning smile,
Bright, shining eyes,
Legs that go for miles
And talent.
How could I ever compare?
He longs for the day
That your marriage ends
So that he can be next in line.
I long for the day
You’ll disappear
So that I can be next on the list.
I know it’s not your fault
That I feel this fat and ugly
Compared to you.
I feel so pathetic
In the shadow of your brilliance.
But how can I hate you
When I don’t even know you?
It’s unfair on you.
So I’ll just stand here in line in silence
Waiting,
Wishing,
Hoping,
That I’ll be next,
Because he’s worth waiting for.
