"Come on In"A Poem by The Devil's Own B***hIt was snowing outside, Flakes of puffy white Floating to the ground. It was cold out there – No shelter, No warmth. I wandered from place to place, But “no room” was The only answer I got. Until I reached the end of the road. There was a door, Painted raven black. It opened before I even knocked. “Come on in,” A voice inside said. The darkness beyond the open door Was heavy, So daunting, But I was too cold to protest. Immediately the darkness Began to consume me. It dug its roots Deep into trenches of my soul. Suddenly I was so hot I felt like I was burning, Scorched by flames. I knew then That this would be the place I would forever be destined to be – This darkness, Was to become my home… Copyright©JosieWentzel15January2009
