(Won't You Please) Notice Me

(Won't You Please) Notice Me

A Poem by The Devil's Own B***h

What does a person have to do to be acknowledged?

What do I have to do to be appreciated?

What must I do to be noticed?

Does anybody hear my cries?

Do you hear my screams of anguish?

Do you hear my whimpering in the cold?

Do you give a damn?

The answer seems apparent,

Yet I cannot believe it.

Can you really be that heartless?

Can you really be that oblivious to my pain?

I wish you would notice me,

Just for one day.

I wish you would appreciate

All that I am.

I wish you would acknowledge

What I have gone through.

Please, I beg of you,

Please, please, please,

Won’t you notice me.
