Love's Violent Tune

I want to block it out!

I hear the sound of

Breaking glass,

And voices rising higher.

I feel the tension between us

Building; climbing; soaring.

What happened to those happy days?

What happened to our care-free moments?

What happened to the passion?

What happened to us?

I hear the sound

Of my heart breaking,

Feel the agony,

As it’s torn apart.

Why has this happened?

Why did things go this way?

Why do I feel this pain?

Why do I want you still?

I hear the sound of violins playing;

Hear the harps’ sweet song.

I hear the angels singing.

How could things have gone so wrong?

I feel the cold

Of our once warm love;

And shiver from the chill

Racing down my spine.

I want to block my ears

From Love’s tormenting lyrics;

Block out Love’s violent tune…
