The Sound of Settling

The Sound of Settling

A Poem by The Devil's Own B***h

Do you hear the silence,

Broken by happy laughter?

Do you hear the stillness,

Shattered by joyous songs?

Do you hear the calm,

Disturbed by the sound of moving furniture?

Do you hear the tranquility

Turned into the chaos of living?

These are the sounds of settling;

The sounds of moving in;

The sounds of finding a place to call home;

The sounds of home finding us.
