I Flew Away Again

I Flew Away Again

A Poem by Olive Belikov

I grew up
that's all,
nothing more.

I ran away
to the sea,
to my core.

You followed me;
your wild heart
love it bore.

But I grew up,
I flew away,
your heart I tore.

Piece by piece,
stitch by stitch,
till you were sore.

And I was gone,
gone again,
with nothing more.
