False Hope?

False Hope?

A Poem by Olive Belikov

My shirt says Hope,
and while wearing it I always dream of Hope itself.
For there are many things I hope for.
Many things I dream of.
I know most of my hopes and dreams will never come true,
though that doesn’t seem to bother me.
It confuses me really, why I know that dreaming is useless,
yet still pursue it endlessly.
There is no point besides the serenity it gives my mind,
My heart.
Even then the serenity itself is useless
sense it only ever lasts a few moments long.
And when those moments are gone,
like the wind,
like the smell of a sweet perfume
dancing on a breeze,
they will never be retained.
Never brought back to where they once belonged.

There is real logic in the poem. A person who waste opportunity of love and good things can't get it back.
"like the smell of a sweet perfume
dancing on a breeze,
they will never be retained.
Never brought back to where they once belonged."
No weakness in this outstanding poem.
