A Song Mans PoemA Poem by Olive BelikovI took a bunch of lyrics from lots of different songs and attempted to put them together into a poem. Tell me what you think and if you wanna know who wrote any of the lyrics in particular, message me
Gravedigger,
when you dig my grave could you make it shallow so that I can feel the rain? Just a drop in the ocean a change in the weather, I was prayin’ that you and me might end up together. goodbye my almost lover goodbye my hopeless dream, I’m tryin’ not to think about you, can’t you just let me be? She’s beautiful, in her simple little way. She don’t have much to say when she gets mad. She understands, you don't let go of anything even when the pain gets really bad. I guess i shoulda been more like that. But tryin’ to live a love with a heart that can be broken is like trying to see the light with eyes that can’t be opened. We may shine, we may shatter, we may be picking up the pieces here on after. We are fragile, we are human, we are shaped by the light we let through us. But we break fast ‘cause we are glass. So I need your arms around me. I need your scent on my skin. And I need to know that you’ll never let go; never let go again. If I lay here, if I just lay here, would you lie with me and just forget the world? We’ll do it all, everything, on our own. We don’t need anything, or anyone. If you ever find yourself in the middle of the sea, i’ll sail the world to find you. If you ever find yourself lost in the dark and you can’t see, I’ll be the light to guide you. I’m searching for your hand at sunset. I hear you whisper in the wind. I'm alone but you keep haunting me; your voice singing in the sea. Does that make me crazy? ‘Cause I think you’re crazy. So run, sister, run. Zig zag to avoid the gun. We’ll live in a cave where I know We’ll be safe. © 2012 Olive Belikov |
