The Four Sad Rules of my Life

The Four Sad Rules of my Life

A Poem by Olive Belikov

No breakfast.
That's the rule.
At least - that's rule #1
Rule #2:
Crackers for lunch.
Something small.
Something to make my stomach believe
It's had it's fill.
Rule #3:
Half a meal for dinner.
Normal plate of food divided by two.
No seconds.
No deserts.
But sometimes it's okay
To break 2 and 3,
And eat nothing at all.
Rule #4:
Walk.
Walk till my feet bleed
Or I run out of road.
2 miles... 4 miles... 6 miles... More.
I hate running
So walking I can do.
It gives me time to think.
Time to comprehend what lies ahead.

These are my rules.
My standards.
Everybody has a routine,
Well this is mine.
This is how I live.

This is probably the rule book for a majority of teenage girls across America. Great poem, straight and to the point.Nice work!

This is very sad. Living on such a restricted diet, slowly killing your body and keeping it from the much needed nutrients it needs to work properly. Though it is a good poem.

Very well written, I liked the short sharp senetences, each with emotions carried between them, great job! :)
