An Evening NightA Poem by Olive Belikov
How do I run so far away
to never again see decay? Once and twice your words do touch. Once and thrice your words I clutch. From open air, blue knit sky, to wandering birds singing why. The purple evening petals bloom; my heart, still red, revels doom. An empty page looks to bare the words I write, so often rare. But rare they come to scarcely chase, to bravely run, for pen and page do truly rue all the words I wrote to you.
