Drowning in Knowledge.

Drowning in Knowledge.

A Poem by .abigail.
"

I just started grade 11. SO MUCH WORK. so this is meant to be metaphorical i guess?

"

The mountain of books crashes down on me,

Burying me alive with their contents.

I struggle to get free,

But my struggles gradually grow weaker,

And I sink down further into the paper.

I make a home there, a nest;

The books and I have a deal:

They’ll stop sending me deeper within them if I can manage to stay afloat.

Every so often, someone tries to rescue me.

I long to leave, but I want to stay as the books drown me in their knowledge.

I want to know all their information.

I want to know, I need to know.

So I stay,

Spending every waking moment trying to keep my head above water,

Sometimes going under,

But usually managing to float back up to the top,

And breathe.
