![]() Walking in the Rain.A Poem by .abigail.Walking in the rain. My every footstep causes mini tidal waves. No one else is around. They’re all at home, cuddled around a heater. Trying to stay warm and dry. I turn my face towards beautifully leaden skies, Squinting as the raindrops dance along my skin. I feel like I’m falling up. Up, to join the raindrops in their victory dance, The victory over the burning sun, her light. I fall up and up and up, Until I’m with the raindrops, Dancing their dance, And singing their song. Their song, It was the most beautiful song anyone had ever heard. It spoke of falling for miles and miles, Floating in the midnight sky, Then landing in an unknown place. Then falling back up again Back to the clouds to start over. The rain slowed, then stopped, As the sun began to burn away the clouds. I fell again, only down this time. Down, down, Till I landed back where I’d started, Standing in the damp street, Walking through puddles, And enjoying every moment of it. © 2009 .abigail.Featured Review
