Confession

Confession

A Chapter by Kaity Fisher

I remember

Back in the beginning

I told myself not to get attached,

But sure enough I did.

And as I fell harder and harder,

More and more walls of insecurity

Appeared blindly.

So now you can go ahead

And cross my name off your list

And play the next one.

Cause I watched you walk away before

But, darling, now it's my turn,

And I'm not coming back.

You're done causing scars.

And while we're confessing,

Know that I'm not crying

And I don't care.

I burned all those memories

As easily as I found a man

To be my king.

Don't worry,

I'm okay,

Not in pain,

He's nothing like you.

And one more confession;

My only regret,

Besides you,

Was ignoring the warnings

Everyone warned me about.

About you.

And sure enough,

It turns out,

They were right.
