For the Love of a Daughter

For the Love of a Daughter

A Chapter by Kaity Fisher

Scars on my back from your knife

Are a permanent reminder of this life

Your promised you'd never give me.

Manipulation runs deep

Like the words you make me believe.

I try so hard to fight your words

And the emotions in my head

But it's hopeless.

Hopeless like you

Hopeless like the chances of being a family.

Scars on my legs from my blades

Are caused by you and your sick need

To gain pleasure from my pain.

Love is a luxury

Something special

Something sacred.

Sacred like you'd never know

Because to me, you're not a mother.

Just a birth giver.

Nothing more.

Scars on my heart from your drugs

Have taught me what never to do.

You do this without thinking

Now I really know betrayal.

Tore apart my chances of happiness

Forever afraid of getting help;

Risking becoming like you.

Don't you remember, I'm your baby girl?

Don't you love me?

How could you throw me right out of your world?
