Winter Sleep

Winter Sleep

A Chapter by Kaity Fisher

White droplets fall from the sky.

As still breath freezes before me.

The reflection of our past,

Flashes before my eyes.

The Arctic winds blowing across

My bare skin, feels better than this.

Images of the monsters

Behind the owl’s homes,

Come out and haunt me.

But your death glare

Has left me paralyzed in fear.

Whenever I’m with you,

I wish life to be before I saw your face.

Perfection is impossible,

Realization with you is as well.

Global warming has turned into

Full-blown effect in our world.

Walking on thin ice,

Praying we make it out alive,

But nothing’s there to catch me,

As I fall.

Might as well shut my eyes,

And enjoy this winter sleep;

Because it’s the only position

You’ve allowed me to be in.
