RegretA Poem by EradikaitWhen it comes to love, one should never espouse regret.I never knew the sound of music, Until I met you. I swear, I heard
violins playing, Somewhere, somehow. That’s when you
smiled. I shied away from
your Staggering
countenance. I averted my flushing
gaze To the crossing
stars. I could tolerate their
beauty, At least. And then, you offered
me your hand. “Will you regret
this?” You asked with your
eyes. Non, Je ne regrette rien, I sang softly. You pulled me close. And grazed your lips Against mine. We danced our way
into A perfect portrait: A burning blend of
red hues. I never learned your
name, But I knew you. I could sense
Midnight approaching. You stopped our movements. “Will you remember this?” Your hand caressed my
flushed cheek. Je t’aime. Tu es entre dans mon coeur, I breathed. The clock chimed. The colors flashed
black and white. I fell out of your
arms, And tumbled out of
our portrait. But I held onto the
memory of you. And when I close my
eyes, I still hear the
sound of music. You are with me
always, Darling. I regret nothing. © 2012 Eradikait |
