Gossip, Flying Soccer Balls, and Murderous WaterA Chapter by VerityIt all started like this, Mr. Director, Sir. I was trailing the popular girls through the park as normal, trying to find out the lastest gossip and rummors for my school newspaper (yes, Director, Sir. It's something I regrefully say that I do when I'm not involved with Aces). This was what I was hearing: "OMG, Lindsley. That is so true. Amelia and Jackson do not make a great pair at all. Oh and BTW Ashley, neon green does not go with black. How many times do I have to tell you that?" Tracy gossiped (she was the head of the clique). "Right Ashley, Tracy is so right," agreed the dumb blonde next to Tracy who I am assuming is Lindsley. I rolled my eyes, wishing that something exciting would happen. I mean really, listening to the popular girls talk s**t about people is kind of tres boring. And then, something hits me, literally. A soccer ball flies from out of nowhere and hits me straight in the stomache. I mean like, one second I was bored as hell. Then the next, a soccer ball seems to have magically appeared and wanted to kill me. The impact threw me backwards. Unluckily, nothing was behind me but a fountain. I fell straightly backwards in, the water hating me as I did it. As soon as I hit the water, it started to surrond me and push me to the bottom of it, hating me for disrupting its peaceful rest. I mean really; if I was just minding my own business flowing or doing whatever water does and this random girl falls in, I would be extremely pissed off and want to drown her too. I struggled to resurface, being almost half oxygen deprived. That was when I realized that this fountain was incredibly deep. Well maybe I was just imagining it or whatever, but this founatin appeared to be ten feet deep. Isn't a normal fountain supposed to be only three feet? Just asking. Anyways suddenly, I felt something wrap around my legs. I tugged on it, struggling to get loose. The more I struggled, the binds held on tighter. I tugged on it with my hands for a while but then, two more binds shot up from out of the murky depts and got my arms. Slowly, I was begin pulled down against my will. My muffled cries for help were no use. I might as well have been mute. Suddenly, I felt a suddenly rush of air and space. I crashed down hard on a metal table. Looking up, I saw a bright light and a much too familiar face. With a sad sigh, I thought that death was better than facing him.
