-Self Destruct Sequence-

A Poem by Sara Anne

I've spent 10 years of my life bleeding in dirty bathtubs,
In houses long since bought and sold, or rented.
It turns out removing the blades from a disposable razor is like riding a bike,
You never forget how.
I have an addictive personality,
I come by that honestly.
Can't lose the weight when drinking daily,
Drugs take your control and you already have so little.
Quit smoking because cigarettes will kill you,
Like they killed her.
So there you sit after all those years,
The water's hot and murky.
The thing everyone said was teen angst,
Something to grow out of.
A grown woman,
bleeding in a dirty bathtub.
