Leather-bound Doors

Leather-bound Doors

A Poem by Kitalia Emme

Imagine a door with no latch or knobs,
one you can take from the wall.
It's small, It's light, quite portable!
And it's there when 'ere you call
It opens at even the softest touch
inviting you into is't halls,
Vast oceans, and caverns, and castles,
Down the rabbit hole you fall.
You follow the king on his quest to restore
His kingdom; he gives it his all!
A knight fallen from grace, but through kindness,
He soon again stands tall.
And dragons in caverns, hidden away,
guarding treasures that will enthrall.
The fate of the world rests in tiny hands,
as "One ring rules them all".
So ride away on a broomstick
to a world they well conceal.
Or rocket away to new planets
that we hope to find are real.

And so this door will lead you
to any world you choose, just look!
For nothing is ever impossible when
in the pages of a good book.

Excellent!!

My fav. lines; "For nothing is ever impossible when
in the pages of a good book."

Yeah, everythin` is hidden in pages even the life itself holding the truth to its detours. Nice imagery!

I'm flattered!
I am a true bibliophile at heart myself so I completely understand what you mean by "For nothing is ever impossible when in the pages of a good book". I love the references to well-known novels in your poem

Thank you for your kind words. I am glad that you enjoyed it.
That's just brilliant, I felt I had entered the Tardis of Dr. Who accompanied by Alice and a knight in shining armour to the realms of Tolkien as Smaug guards his gold and Gollum fights against us (now joined by Bilbo Baggins) as we steal away with Sauron's ring of gold heading on a witches broomstick to Mordor which has somehow been transported to maybe Mars or Jupiter and all for the price of a good book, marvelous writing Kitalia, I love it :)
