A Poem by Kitalia Emme

When I held you
Then I knew
I could never let go.
I would never let go.
Yes, you were mine to hold.

Bleeding, left me bleeding
Fight as light drains away.
Bleeding, left me Bleeding
Thought you'd never slip away.
Left me bleeding, Left me dying
Left me empty, left with pain.

For all the strength
I once had
I scream with every breath.
I feel the cold of death.
A void where once you were.

Some offer comfort
Some reach out
And yet I cannot reach
The chasm is too deep
The pain has left me numb.

Jealousy burns
At other joy
I smile, but empty.
The void you left
One will never know.

Never will you know
The love I had
Or know the light.
You took my light.
My pain; mine alone.

And in a place I now go
A single flower
An evening flower
Shows me hope, your soul.

You'll never know
This grand world.
My love for you
I died for you.
But I'll learn to live again.

Kitalia Emme
I will ask that any critique on this is gentle. This is a piece that is very close to my heart, very emotional as I was writing it in attempt to cope with the loss of a child.
