that teenage love would last

but don’t get so serious about it

and then leave me like i was a free trial

a free trial of what love could be

of what life together could be

of what patience and care could be

i like titling some of my poems with the dates so that when i look back i can see exactly when this fuckery was going on but i think free trial is too good of a title to pass up // anyway my bf and i broke up and i need to get over him asap so here's some venting lol don't date, kids

That ending tho. Loving that tender tea thrown. That idiot who's really your dork who's really your world. Hm, I find our contrary ways of calling our loved ones rather endearing, too bashful and deep down frightened to call the one we love by everything they mean to us. This is what I thought of after a while as I pondered, "dumbass."

The simile of a free trial really is well done, so I'm glad you made that the title after all. Terms and conditions may apply...pay the full price or don't click at all...not six months--you had an engaging blend of humor, wit, and raw heartfelt realness.

Isn't that exactly what you are doing with this poem?

If you instinctually feel bitterness and hold a grudge against people who eventually choose not to be with you life is only going to get harder as time goes by... you will never grow with that kind of disposition.

i guess so. i wrote that line in conjunction with the one following it, but i guess even on its own it still stands.

i think at first i was bitter, but after a while i've come to understand it. like i said, it's dumb to think teenage love would last, and this had it's place in my life for that amount of time and went the way it did for a reason.

even if you begin with bitterness, you can still turn it into fondness and growth.
