Suspect.

Suspect.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

The sad reality of most of us.

"

Guided hands envelop the strings of the heart,

Mirrored thoughts leave times behind us all,

Glaring eyes are softened with hopes carress,

Flutters stem the right for us to kiss not fall.

Piercing pains neither hurt nor scar within me,

Sliding feelings print minds away from hell,

Religious ceremony bound to smiles forever,

The seal for both are the dings of the bell.

Parents ripped apart by wanting lust,

Fear rising in single hearts slapped and shoved,

Catch another in heat and passion lay,

Once nerves and hands no longer loved.

Laying still in wooden boxes no better,

Finally of the same stature and respect,

Dead the only cleanser that never fails,

Each other mere people of tragic suspect.

Most people don't realize this, but I find great peace an beauty through the mysterious and unexplainable emotion of sadness. This poem is incredibly and irrevocably filled with the truth of people's lives that most of society attempts to cover up. In a nutshell, this poem is really beautiful!

I agree with your words. We wander through life looking for answers. We receive only the desire of more questions. Many people with dreams and goals that are different are consider suspects. Better to leave people alone in their own searches and live in your own turmoil.

Thank you for the excellent poem.

The guise of "acceptance" in death and after isn't real... memories are softened somewhat but those that did no wrong don't seek forgiveness and the haters don't know how.

Sad and a bit fatalistic, but well written. I like it!

"Dead the only cleanser that never fails" is my favourite line, and "Religious ceremony bound to smiles forever". Both blunt and truthful, this is a sad and thoughtful poem.
