Nero

Nero

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

An ode to the old fiddler.

"

Tired silence breaks under time and stealth,

A fearful act of cowards make men, men,

Barelled walls steal blood from those few,

The titan stands tall towered when, when.

Slayed masters mock bodies between rows,

Guided hands feel forth souls heat, heat,

Women dance with demons in shires close,

Fractured branches fall off quiet neat, neat.

Brace a stone and crash wood open along time,

Slack reminders of an earth by hero's, hero,

A city burned bright and hot warming feet,

He danced circles and lines that Nero's, Nero.

The repetition and density of the work does make it stand out, and standing out at times, is what you do best.

The fact that you can take a historical figure and do this with him, well it's just very european and academic of you and such powers of the old fiddle (old bards) are not lost upon me.

I like the repetitive ending, it reinforces the points.
I like the flow of the entire piece.

The imagery is strong and you have painted it well through out this piece. The flow is easy to follow.

I loved the ...an ode to an old fiddler. The whole poem conjures up a lot of images..that I was able to retain because of its neat length. Thanks.

I'm wondering if the comma can be omitted to experience more quirky moments.
