Faggott!

Faggott!

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A look at the turmoil of my life and the experiences shared by many of this once minority! The struggle is on going, however I think tides have been turned.

"

Little Nancy boy playing with your dolls,

Chubby and quiet, that squeaky voice,
Tease him, ignore him, make him an it,
Little mammy's boy rolling in their Royce.

Awkward adolesent never showers with us,
Crap at all sports, dirty and weird,
Do you all hear what they say about it,
That he looks and speaks a little queered.

F*****g faggott, he sleeps with other men,
Makes us sick to our stomachs, it's wrong,
Our priest says its a mortal sin,
I hope he never looks at my dong.

To all you b******s that bullied that boy,
I forgive you whole heartedly, no tears,
I've come through it stronger and better than you,
I no longer feel for you at all, no fears!

Bravo Mr. Fitzgerald ! Your right..it did make you stronger and it shows in your writing, not just this piece.
I bet some of those people have become more opened minded as our communities continue crack their hearts to see with love..
I myself am a "breeder" ( : loving called this .. (again) Bravo !
……
I came back to add… I have listened to many stories from friends and family..them growing up gay.. how they were harassed by the law, put into places for mental health..because don't you know .. it can be corrected? (joking totally) ..it is not like that now where I live..but to think these things happened to people I love and admire..to hear how they rose above injustice.. well it makes me pretty proud to know them !

Wow this is amazing. I'm 16 and a lot of kids my age think about killing themselves because they get bullied just like you did. I used to think about it but no I spend my time trying to tell people how important and beautiful they are. I really think you should share this poem with teens and tell them that things WILL get better.

This is a time of reckoning. You need to share this with the teens committing suicide because of the way their peers treat them. They could be successful like you

Brilliant, you are the one who can hold his head up high and the cowards are the ones who will be forever shamed. Well done x

Ignorance is the disgrace of our race on this planet. Whether it is directed toward religion, sexual orientation, or the color of ones skin, we always seem to find ways to beat each other down. I can't even pretend to know what you went through because of people unwilling to change their way of thinking, but I appreciate you speaking your mind.

Truly this is a heinous situation. Its a situation that few youth can see past. I don't think very many abused gay youth know the hopeful future that lies ahead of them. Your poem offers light at the end of the tunnel showing that we can live happy and fulfilling lives, the way that we were born. It also tells a little bit about moving past the trauma and not letting our lives become affected by the past. This is a hard cross to bear. I commend you for writing this, because I feel that this message of tolerance should be spread, and I think that its wonderful you're doing that through your writing.
