Faggott!

Faggott!

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A look at the turmoil of my life and the experiences shared by many of this once minority! The struggle is on going, however I think tides have been turned.

"

Little Nancy boy playing with your dolls,

Chubby and quiet, that squeaky voice,
Tease him, ignore him, make him an it,
Little mammy's boy rolling in their Royce.

Awkward adolesent never showers with us,
Crap at all sports, dirty and weird,
Do you all hear what they say about it,
That he looks and speaks a little queered.

F*****g faggott, he sleeps with other men,
Makes us sick to our stomachs, it's wrong,
Our priest says its a mortal sin,
I hope he never looks at my dong.

To all you b******s that bullied that boy,
I forgive you whole heartedly, no tears,
I've come through it stronger and better than you,
I no longer feel for you at all, no fears!

Bravo Mr. Fitzgerald ! Your right..it did make you stronger and it shows in your writing, not just this piece.
I bet some of those people have become more opened minded as our communities continue crack their hearts to see with love..
I myself am a "breeder" ( : loving called this .. (again) Bravo !
……
I came back to add… I have listened to many stories from friends and family..them growing up gay.. how they were harassed by the law, put into places for mental health..because don't you know .. it can be corrected? (joking totally) ..it is not like that now where I live..but to think these things happened to people I love and admire..to hear how they rose above injustice.. well it makes me pretty proud to know them !

There is no monopoly on pain. Pain doesn't care if you are gay or straight or black or white or old or young...there's equal oppurtunity suffering and death in this life. But 5 year old cancer victims seldom write poems of angst about the cruelty of life. They are usually too busy trying to stay alive like the rest of us. As for the quality of the writing; "That he is looks and speaks a little queered." I think you should consider revising this line. And this line, "I hope he never looks at my dong." was outlandishly funny to the point of absurdity. You complain about others calling you names yet in the same breath call them "b******s". You return hatred for hatred...I see no strength in that but rather a pettiness. Yet you offer, " I forgive you whole heartedly" while it is evident that you do not. And as for making "a success" out of life...what exactly does that mean? Does it mean you will die with bigger and better toys than someone else? More money or fame? To me, a sucessful life is one spent helping others, not one agrandizing over personal pity from the abuse or mistreatment of others. Because there is no monopoly on pain. Some just have the strength to bear their burden with a bit more dignity than others. I have nothing against anyone because of their race, religion, sexual orientation or personal life preferences. But don't make it a soapbox to stand on and throw your own pity party. I, for one. won't be attending...I have enough concerns in my own daily life that require my attention and responsibility.

Thank you Liven
bravo, thomas! well said and nicely written. i have, over the years known and
been friends with gay people and never once felt threatened or unusual
around them. what most people fail to realize is that, just because you're
gay, doesn't mean you are "on the make" for every member of the same sex. just as in straight society, you pick and choose your lovers for compatibility. nice write!

Thank you quinn
powerful write,
the irish mentality is very old fashioned,
'our priest says it's a mortal sin,'
eh....the priests can't judge anyone,
irish priests are notorious for enjoying themselves a little boy love from time to time!
having lived in san franciso i had quite a few gay friends
and they were some of the coolest folk i knew.....

Indeed, thank you x
A powerful poem . Never look down because you are gay, lesbian, or different from what society calls "normal". No matter how much they torment you or bring you down, know that you are ahead of them in so many ways. A lesson so many need to learn. A great poem Thomas.
"To all you b******s that bullied that boy,
I forgive you whole heartedly, no tears,
I've come through it stronger and better than you,
I no longer feel for you at all, no fears!"
I am glad that you are who you are and that you have so much success in your life. Thanks for the awesome read.

This is an amazing poem, Thomas. On a never ending topic. Bullies are everywhere, and I've had some of my own for different reasons. Never let anyone tell you that you're not enough or that you're weird just because you are different. Being different is what makes us who we are, and dealing with bullies shapes us into becoming the people we are today. You learn from it. You grow from it. And the only thing left to say to them in the long run is "Thank you."

Great write =]
