Perfection.

Perfection.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A study of religion.

"
Pray to heaven,

Forsake a hell,

Making noises,

A man to tell,

A hollow dome,

A marble altar,

Smoking incense,

Amen to falter.

Easy to find hell in a life. Hard to find heaven or peace. Few people know what peace is till it is too late. I believe peace would be a good cigar. A good beer and my grandsons at my feet playing with their cars. I went to the great churches of Europe. I believe there is a God. Maybe we don't understand his purpose. A outstanding poem. Made me think this morning.

All mankind has a spark of perfection; some tend the flame; some smother it out. But it is there nonetheless. From there we find our inspiration, our beauty and truth. There is something within every man and woman that is larger and better than themselves. I submit that this is perfection... unconditional love. The author of 1st John said, "God is love." And I believe there is more truth in those words than can be adequately addressed.

The last 3 lines are precious! Humanistic and serene.
