Perfection.

Perfection.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A study of religion.

"
Pray to heaven,

Forsake a hell,

Making noises,

A man to tell,

A hollow dome,

A marble altar,

Smoking incense,

Amen to falter.

Very interesting. I like it.

I see the incisive irony in this. What do we do when all the traditions that are meant to bolster us are hollow? Or perhaps this is my own bias reading into it. This contains both a deep connection and reverence for the trappings of the church, and a sense that what really matters is not contained within them.
