September 11th

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A follow up on my poem "The Game of War"

"
The soaring on high,

The crashing out loud,

The scream of pain,

The screams of now,

The flesh that was ripped,

The lives that were taken,

Some have forgot,
None have forsaken.

Their ARE existence pausing moments... and the sheer barbarity of them IS mind disparaging. Our media brings everything to the table AS it happens and thereafter bombards the captive audience until we become numb to the events and their replays. A strong write Tom.

There's a poem I wrote where the lives and clashing events that day are explained, I never posted it, but If you wanted I could share If you're interested. Your poem is a bit simple although it makes the theme more straightforward. You displayed the emotion in connection with 'The Game of War' very well and clear. It's an emotional read. Thanx for writing ^.^

Was a day we all shall never forget..Thank you for your beautifully crafted poem regarding that atrocity and your author's note. Too many quickly forget the event that changed the free world as we now know it. That very one day, changed every nation one way or another..the rippling effects continue to wash ashore. We all have been stripped of our security and naivety. The families of those lost in that tragic event have suffered unimaginable losses.

Your poem is clear and simple, yet vividly describes the horror of that event. I like the 'soaring on high', which may allude to the tall buildings or the airplanes, or both. Humans tend to forget past tragedies as a way to cope with the present. War, terrorism, violence in every form is and always has been a crying shame. Well said you.

This is an amazing/extremely powerful piece you have written. Speaking for myself, I will never forget that day, and the tragic loss of life that occurred then and with the ensuing war.

All people say "always remember", the few like you that do always remember is what holds the rising generation in place. Good work

You've done a really great job at describing that day in such a few short words.
