Their ARE existence pausing moments... and the sheer barbarity of them IS mind disparaging. Our media brings everything to the table AS it happens and thereafter bombards the captive audience until we become numb to the events and their replays. A strong write Tom.
Wowzers, there are no words I could possibly say to praise this peice that others have not already said. Wonderful piece thomas short and simple. I like it.
I was very young that day, just remember peeking through the stair railing to watch the footage on TV as my mother rushed me away, but I know of the horror that day held for many. I had a good friend who lost both her father and brother that day. She would appreciate this piece more than I could, but I still find you poem a beautiful tribute. Each short line entails a frightening perspective, and I feel that the extra short length of the last two lines is symbolic of all those who had their own lives cut short on that fateful day. Very well penned. Thank you.
I was really young when 9/11 occured and I don't remember much of it but everytime I think about it now I start to cry and I am on the verge of tears right now. It really describes what happened that day.
To all who know by now - I love you.
For those that don't, I review a lot of work on here, and I expect the same in return, friend me but make sure to have conviction! I'm a horror writer mostly bu.. more..
