I absolutely have great respect for peices like this one. So much thought, so much meaning all expressed in the simplest of ways. A simple path that hits your heart and mind in places that make you feel and think about what is being delivered by the writer.
WELL DONE!!
Thomas, love this writing! Thought provoking, speaking of truths, and with style. I'm gonna put this in my favorites with slight reservation (I wish you'd go back in and fix the typos). Grant my request? :)
Yeah. This ones a thinker alright. Indeed. All really good points. I often wonder about these very things. I really keyed in on politeness (cause I live in Japan I guess) Does the mask do more harm than good in the end? I believe so. How often do we use politness as an excuse for lack of courage to speak our minds. Feelings will out, one way or another. The way is through not around. And through the fires of expressed emotion we become transformed. Like when we finally grow the kohunas to sound off about something thats getting on our wick and theres some tension, but thats the learning curve -- no pain no gain. Crisis brings healing in its wake.
That was useful a bit of therapy in reflection on a recent unresolved issue that had me suffering for the sake of politness, that I had brought to a head and finally gotten past. But in the beginning I was in denial, trying to avoid confrontation. And its funny how when we don't conciously aknowledge something that we need to deal with, we end up unconciously expressing the healing intention by bringing things to a head, so we can resolve it. So theres nothing else for it but radical honesty from the get go. Sanity demands it. Cheers for keeping me posted.
The writing style and sentence structure is interesting, starting each line with '...'. You make a statement(s) and then propound a question. In the end you propose a conclusion. I agree that love cannot be static. But I believe that we can choose who we associate with, who are our close friends, and because of those decisions--who we fall in love with. I like the clean style of your writing, which easily conveys the message, prompting the reader to think, ponder and meditate. The extra space between the lines allows for a mental 'breather', giving us time to chew on the previous thought. Nicely done.
. . . the thin line between love and hate - what would be it's name? - fear . . .
Such a beautiful line.
Actually each line is beautiful All of them have such an amazing meaning.
Wow.
very interesting, that's what i'd call a collection of "life quotes", it makes me think of Appio Claudio Cieco's, the first one who's written something like that in latin literature :)
(the guy who said we decide our fate)
To all who know by now - I love you.
For those that don't, I review a lot of work on here, and I expect the same in return, friend me but make sure to have conviction! I'm a horror writer mostly bu.. more..
