The Farm's Blessing.

The Farm's Blessing.

A Poem by Thomas Fitzgerald
"

A life on the land.

"
The wind falls deep,
Across Summer's grass,
Preparation for Winter,
The grass colour will pass.

The spirit now settled,
The ocean unchanged,
The rocks are receding,
From sky it has rained.

The nests now shadowed,
Animals are maturing,
Birds of no fear now,
Once scary now alluring.

Crops now are harvested,
Pales now brought in,
Food plenty for Winter,
For all of his kin.

The late summer is high-lighted beautifully here, I loved the second and last stanzas. You brought past present and future into this, besides a nice feel for the elements, wildlife and harvest. Lovely. Great Title, the idea of life on the land is heaven to me. Thanks.

For me it invokes a well sense of being and readiness. I might have it all wrong too because I can be quite senile and...well anyway I still liked this.

This wonderfully describes the farm, and I loved the part where it describes the colors. Keep writing!!

Love this poem, in fact, I've always wanted to work on a farm. Preferrably not the haunted ones that movies make all farm out to be. It sounds like fun. Anyway, this poem did a very good job highlighting the events of seasons changing, I especially like how each stanza represents a season.

There is always an untouchable feeling hidden in the meaning of nature and something about living in a farm, never had the experience though, but it sounds nice. Great poem:))

I love writing about seasons and nature! Living on a micro-farm, I can understand this. It brings me back to a simpler time though. I love it.

I think its portrayed quite nicely. My grandfather has a farm, so I can see how this poem goes purrrfectly with the farm setting.
